Regnskapsanalyse av Kristiansund Kommunale Sundbåtvesen KF

Abstract

Sammendrag I denne oppgaven har jeg gjennomført en regnskapsanalyse av Kristiansund Kommunale Sundbåtvesen KF i perioden 2021-2023. Jeg har sett på den økonomiske utviklingen i perioden via utvalgte nøkkeltall innen lønnsomhet, likviditet, finansiering og soliditet. Kristiansund Kommunale Sundbåtvesen KF er verdens eldste selskap for kollektivtransport og transporterer passasjerer mellom byens fire «land» med bruk av «Sundbåten». Høsten 2021 vedtok kommunen at bedriften skulle få økonomisk bevilgning slik at de kunne operere som et gratis kollektivtilbud. Høsten 2024 kom derimot fylkeskommunedirektøren opp med et forslag om å kutte millionstøtten til bedriften. Regnskapsanalysen viser en negativ utvikling i den økonomiske situasjonen i bedriften fra 2021-2023, noe som gjenspeiles i nesten samtlige nøkkeltall. I første del av oppgaven presentes bedriften kort samt valg av problemstilling. Deretter følger en teoridel, hvor den mest relevante teorien redegjøre. I teoridelen er det spesielt fokus på utvalgte nøkkeltall som analysen baserer seg på, og litt om den strategiske analysen-SWOT som supplerer videre. Etter teoridelen følger en metodedel, som forklarer de metodiske valgene som er foretatt i undersøkelsen, og konsekvenser disse har på oppgaven. Neste steg er oppgavens hoveddel, analysen. Analysedelen baserer seg på nevnte nøkkeltall samt SWOT-analysen. Nøkkeltallene blir fremstilt grafisk og deretter drøftet for å finne en forklaring på de endringene som kommer frem. Analysedelen danner grunnlaget for siste del som er konkluderende for oppgaven. Her kommenteres den negative økonomiske utviklingen for bedriften i perioden 2021-2023, og hvordan bedriften kan påvirkes av et eventuelt kutt i millionstøtten.

Abstract This study is a financial accounting analysis of Kristiansund Kommunale Sundbåtvesen KF for the period 2021-2023. The assignment focuses on the financial development for this period through the chosen key financial figures; profitability, solidity, liquidity and financing. Kristiansund Kommunale Sundbåtvesen KF is the words oldest public transporting company. Its main objective is to transport passengers between Kristiansunds four «bays» using «Sundbåten». In the fall of 2021 the muncipality decided to award economic support to the company so it could start shuttling its passengers free of charge. However in the fall of 2024 the muncipalitys board leader suggested to cut the economic support entirely. The financial analysis shows a negative trend in the economic growth of the company for the analysed years. Which is reflected in nearly all key financial figures. The first part of the assignment consists of a short description of the company along with the thesis statement. The next part consists of relevant theory for the assignment, where the chosen key financial figures holds alot of weight. Next up is a SWOT-analysis to supplement the financial analysis. After the theory is described in detail, we go over to the next part which is an explanation of what methods are being used in the thesis and why, and some of the consequences the choice of methods brings along. Next up is the main part of the assignment, which i the analysis of the chose key financial figures along with a visual presentation of these. Then we try to find an explanation as to how the key financial figures develops over the analysed time period, and discuss these findings in detail. The final part of the assignment consists of a concluding part where the negative economical growth gets some final comments along with some thoughts about how the suggested cut in the economical support may affect the companys financial future.
