In this paper, three species of the water mite family Aturidae collected in Portugal were identified using an integrative approach that combines morphology and DNA barcodes. Parabrachypoda lusitanica sp. nov. is described as new for science. Two species, Hexaxonopsis romijni (K. Viets, 1923) and Woolastookia rotundifrons (K. Viets, 1922) are reported for the first time for the water mite fauna of Portugal.en_US
