Å surfe med eldrebølgen - aldersvennlig stedsutvikling i Overhalla

Abstract

I prosjektet har jeg brukt Overhalla kommune som modell for å undersøke hvordan et mer aldersvennlig samfunn og boliger kan realiseres i praksis. For en aldrende befolkning som ikke nødvendigvis har tilgang på infrastrukturen som storbyen har. Men med dugnadsånden og samholdet som tettstedet tilbyr. Mange ønsker å klare seg selv og bo hjemme uansett alder, noe som også er en samfunnsmessig nødvendighet i tiden som kommer.

Hva er arkitektens rolle i en slik utvikling, hva kreves av funksjonen og opplevelsen av boligen, dess lokaliseringen, og hva blir viktig når sårbarheten øker for plutselige endringer i kropp, helse og livssituasjon?

In this project, I have used Overhalla municipality as a case-model for investigating how we can build a more age friendly environment. With a growing elderly population but not necessarily the same amenities that a larger city can offer. But rather with a tight-knitted and volontary spirit that is so typical for rural communities.

Most people want to live in their own homes, regardless of age or life situation. It will also be a requirement that more are able to do so. What is the role of the architect in this process, and what is needed of the house or dwelling in an aging body. What is most important when our vunerability increases and our life-situation, health and body can rapidly change? That is the ongoing discussion during the project.
