Abstract
This paper argues mistakes are valuable for learning, not just student learning, but for teachers to improve teaching methods. Traditionally viewed as needing correction, mistakes can reveal weaknesses in teaching materials or methods. The Anthropological Theory of the Didactic (ATD) analyses how mistakes can be used to enhance teaching by using the Herbartian Schema.
