for å overholde alle operasjonelle hensyn mens Miningmath selv prøver å maksimere netto
trengs for presis kontroll over dagbruddsplanen i Miningmath.
dc.description.abstract | Abstract
The objective of this thesis is to create a 50 year long-term open-pit mineplan in an industrial mineral deposit in Tromsdalen. The mineplan is created using direct block scheduling with the programme Miningmath. The mineplan has to adhere to operational demands
from the zoning plan of the open pit in Tromsdalen, as well as the interest of the mining
company Verdalskalk AS. Therefore the it was studied whether one could control the direct
block scheduler Miningmath to comply to all the operational contraints while Mininmath
itself is trying to maximize the net present value.
The study also includes the creation of an economic blockmodel from Verdalskalk AS own
blockmodel. The blockmodel is designed to be as realistic as possible, while keeping the destinations low for operationnal effiency in Miningmath. This is because Miningmath employs a variety of relaxations and can modify of remove restrictions in an effort to get a feasible
solution.
Many models are created to create experience in using Miningmath on the deposit, and for
validation of the numerous restrictions implemented in the Mineplan. The production in
each model is very sporadic and in most models a few years of production wil account for
the large majority production in the long-term plan. The production in these years far exceeds the maximum allowed production in the year it was produced. However the cumulative
production is less than the theoretical maximum tonnage allowed over the life of the plan.
The errors in the models culminate with the extraction of the entire deposit, as more restrictions are added, or the use of fake destinations is implemented. This time exceeding even
the maximum tonnage allowed over the life of the plan, and is only restrictet by surface files.
The conclusion is that none of the models created in Miningmath is feasable to use in the
Tromsdalen deposit, and the direct blockscheduling technology need to mature, or create
an new solution for optimizing industrial mines. However the tools for precise control of
the open-pit mineplan is in the Miningmath package, it just is not implemented well or
Miningmath is just not optimized for industrial deposits.
