Distriktsopprør i et gloablt og demokratisk samfunn: Komparativ case-studie av "De gule vestene" og det "nye" norske distriktsopprøret

Abstract

Denne oppgaven er en komparativ case-studie av «De gule vestene» i Frankrike sin bevegelse og det norske distriktsopprøret. Oppgaven tar utgangspunkt i Stein Rokkan sin sentrum-periferi teori, og bruker John Stuart Mill`s «Method of agreement» til å analysere likheter i casenes faktorer, for å svare på hvorfor begge casene endte med resultatet distriktsopprør. Fokuset i oppgaven er rettet mot casene sin sentrumsstruktur, og hvordan de ulike typene sentrer (det politiske, økonomiske og kulturelle) sine beslutninger har påvirket periferien. Samt hvor vidt disse beslutningene mot periferien har påvirket resultatet distriktsopprør. I analysen blir det sett nærmer på hvordan «de gule vestene» reagerte til skatten på dieseldrivstoff, Macron sin holdning mot det franske folk, hvordan de franske eiendomsprisene har skapt et geografisk klasseskille og levestanderen til innbyggerne i periferien. Det blir også sett nærmer på hvordan det norske distriktsopprøret reagerte på ABE reformene sin påvirkning, ulvedebatten, kommune og fylkes reformer og Senterpartiets vekst. I oppgaven blir det brukt en litteraturstudie for å innhente informasjon og data. Hensikten med oppgaven er å finne likhetstrekk i casene som kan forklare hvorfor resultatet ble distriktsopprør.

This thesis is a comparative case study of the "Yellow Vests" movement in France and the Norwegian district uprising. The thesis is based on Stein Rokkan's center-periphery theory, and uses John Stuart Mill`s "Method of agreement" to analyze similarities in the cases' factors, to answer why both cases ended with the result district revolt. The focus of the thesis is on the cases' center structure, and how the different types of centers (political, economic and cultural)'s decisions have affected the periphery. And the extent to which these decisions toward the periphery have affected the outcome of district revolt. The analysis takes a closer look at how the "yellow vests" reacted to the tax on diesel fuel, Macron's attitude towards the French people, how French real estate prices have created a geographical class divide and the standard of living of the inhabitants of the periphery. It also looks more closely at how the Norwegian district uprising reacted to the ABE reforms' impact, the wolf debate, municipal and county reforms, and Senterpartiets growth. In the thesis, a literature study is used to obtain information and data. The purpose of the thesis is to find similarities in the cases that can explain why the result was a district uprising.
