1
og Medline.
Resultat: Gjennom analyseprosessen ble det avdekket tre
hovedtemaer: beskyttende isolasjon og psykiske plager (a),
diskusjon.
Konklusjon: Litteraturstudien trekker fram at sykepleiere spiller en
avgjørende rolle i ivaretakelse av pasientens psykososiale behov
under isolasjonsperioden. For å sørge for dette er sykepleierens
forebyggende, helsefremmende og veiledende rolle av stor
betydning. Havkis kontrollmodell anvendes som struktur for
drøftingen i denne studien.
dc.description.abstract | Research question: “How can a nurse preserve psychosocial needs
in cancer patients who are located in protective isolation after a
stem cell transplantation?”
Background: Preservation of psychosocial needs in isolated
patients is perceived as demanding and time-consuming. According
to statistics, there are approximately three thousand Norwegians
who are afflicted with hematological cancer forms every year. They
make up a relatively large patient group. Hence, well-developed
knowledge on how to preserve psychosocial needs is exceedingly
relevant.
Aim: The purpose of this literature review is to direct focus
towards the psychosocial needs of patients in isolation, after
undergoing HSCT-treatment. The thesis deals with patients´
perspective and draws focus towards health-promoting measures
3
that prevent psychological and social ailments within this
patient-group to the greatest extent possible.
Method This bachelor thesis is a literature review, which is based
on seven qualitative research articles retrieved from the databases
Cinahl and Medline.
Results: Through the analysis process, there were three main
themes revealed: protective isolation and psychological ailments
(a), the patient´s own experience of protective isolation (b) and the
nurses’ function (c), which is further elaborated in the discussion of
the study.
Conclusion: The literature review puts forward, that nurses play a
crucial role in the preservation of patients’ psychosocial needs
during the isolation period. To ensure this, the nurses preventive
and health promoting methods, as well as their guiding role is of
big importance. Havkis control model is utilized as a structure for
the discussion in this study. The model involves the points,
cognitive, instrumental and emotional control, which further
contributes to promoting patients’ psychosocial needs in
demanding situations such as protective isolation. Focus is directed
towards the patients´ active participation in the course of treatment,
conveying information, exercise prudent and caring nursing based
on well developed competence, as well as promoting a feeling of
hope and mastery. Research results also point out that relation to
relatives and the patients own will is crucial in order to master the
patient role and the challenging situation they are in. | |
