dc.description.abstractThis artistic research thesis investigates the sounding of mythological, cultural and sonic vibrations resonating through Singing Bridges, in a series of poetic reflections exploring the bridge from 360° angles. Encompassing situated listening, acoustic ecology, autoethnography, sonic architecture, experimental music, speculative temporality, more-than-human and machine creativity. Singing Bridges 360° is the creative presentation of artistic research in the MFA Graduation project. Sculpting a bridge in sound, the work is a spatial audio composition based on recordings using contact microphones to amplify and capture the vibrations in the cables of suspension bridges. The audio is composed into a multichannel experimental musique concrète for immersive listening in the world premiere at Trondheim Planetarium, May 2022. Images created in collaboration with AI text to image generator (Nightcafe) to express the concept of Singing Bridges are exhibited as photographic prints.
