This bachelor thesis is written as literature study, with environmental therapy as topic. I want to highlight the topic through the thesis statment, which is: How can environmental therapeutic methods lead to developement, coping and change for children and youths who is living in a child welfare institution. Children and youths who live in child welfare institutions have often complex problem areas, and it can be challenging as and environmental therapist to help children and youths to understand their own behvioral and emotinal expressions, as well as how they should be able to process the pain they carry with them. The thesis will highlight how environmental therapists van work change- and careorientated towards children and youths problem areas, as well as how they can develope a sense of coherence of how events in life have a connection to who they are. The thesis statement is defined to examining how cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-informed care can create change, development and coping.
