Fasadens potensial

Abstract

Motivasjonen for denne oppgaven kommer fra et ønske om en bedre fasadeestetikk i nybygg i Norge. Fasadeestetikk virker spesielt nedprioritert i store boligutviklingsområder, og den faglige diskusjonen rundt temaet kommer ofte til kort i estetiske problemstillinger.

Metoden som er brukt i oppgaven er å tegne fasader på to tomter med utgangspunkt i ferdige planløsninger. Dette for å utforske muligheter innenfor forhåndsbestemte rammer. I tegneprosessen er det tatt i bruk en blanding av et teoretisk grunnlag, tilbakemeldinger fra brukerundersøkelser og erfaringsbaserte tegneøvelser.

Målet for oppgaven er å bli bedre på å tegne fasader, spesielt innenfor samtidens krav og begrensninger, samt skape et grunnlag for en estetisk diskusjon.

Resultater er et utvalg fasader samlet i et fasaderegister, samt en oppgave som tar opp problematikk rundt temaet fasadeestetikk.

Videre resulterer den i en økt bevissthet rundt behovet-, og ønsket for, diskusjonen om fasadeestetikk.

The choice of topic for the diploma is rooted in the desire for better facade aesthetics in new buildings in Norway. Facade aesthetics seems to be particularly downgraded in large housing development areas, and the professional discussion around the topic often falls short in aesthetic issues.

The method used in the thesis is to draw facades on two plots based on finished floor plans. This is done to explore opportunities within predetermined limits of a regulated plan and plot. In the drawing process, a mixture of a theoretical basis, feedback from user surveys and experience-based drawing exercises has been used.

The aim of the thesis is to become better at drawing facades, especially within contemporary regulations and limitations, as well as creating a basis for an aesthetic discussion.

The final results are a selection of facades collected in a facade register, as well as a discussion that addresses issues around the topic of facade aesthetics.

Furthermore, the diploma results in an increased awareness of the need for, and desire for, a renewed discussion about facade aesthetics.
