Abstract

Chicano-forfatteren Sandra Cisneros tilhører den første generasjonen viktige Latina-forfattere i 1980 og 1990, og med sine arbeid presenterer hun rollen som Chicano og meksikanske kvinner i en machokultur. Hun fokuserer på kvinners situasjon innenfor forskjellige historier om kvinner i Latina og Chicano. Innenfor sidene hennes viser Cisneros lengsel og kvinnekamp for å være mer enn bare disse kvinnene.

Chicano writer Sandra Cisneros belongs to the first generation of important Latina writers in 1980 and 1990, and with her works she presents the role of Chicano and Mexican women in a macho culture. Within her pages Cisneros shows the longings and the struggles of the women to be more than just these women.
