dc.description.abstractNORSK: Introduksjon: Leukemi er den vanligste kreftformen blant barn. I dag er prognosen for barnekreft på 80-85% overlevelse. Hensikt: Hensikten med litteraturstudien er å få innsikt og nye kunnskaper om hvordan sykepleier kan bidra til mestringsfølelse hos barn med leukemi. Metode: Metoden er et litteratursøk. Gjennom søkeperioden ble databaser som Cinahl, Sage Journals og Ovid Nursing Database benyttet. Søkeord som child, cancer, nursing, coping, impatient og communication ble anvendt. Resultat: Studiene viser at barn utvikler mestringsstrategier ut i fra den situasjonen de er i. Sykepleiers rolle er å trygge og å bli kjent med barnet som en helhet og ikke som pasient. Konklusjon: Det er viktig som sykepleier å ha kunnskaper om barns utvikling, kommunikasjon og deretter sette dette i en sammenheng med hvordan en skal forholde seg til barnet. Samtidig er det viktig som sykepleier å skape et trygt miljø rundt barnet, der trygghet, tillit og gode relasjoner er sentrale elementer. Dette er viktig når sykepleier skal bidra til at barnet oppnår mestringsfølelse ved sykdom.nb_NO
dc.description.abstractENGLISH: Introduction: Leukemia is the most common cancer among children. Today`s childhood cancer statistics show a survival rate of 80-85%. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding and insight into how nurses can contribute to create a stronger feeling of empowerment among children with leukemia. Methods: The method is a literature study. Search engines used throughout the research period was Cinahl, Sage Journals and Ovid Nursing Database. Keyword as child, cancer, nursing, coping, impatient and communication was applied. Result: The studies show that children develop coping strategies based on the situation they are in. The nurse`s role is to comfort and get to know the child as a whole person and not just a patient. Conclusion: The most important skill as a nurse is to have knowledge about children`s development, communication and then put this in coherence with how you should act towards a child. At the same time it is important as a nurse to create a safe environment around the child, where security, trust and good relation is the main elements. Conclusively these are all very important aspects in order for nurses to increase each child`s feeling of empowerment while sick.nb_NO
