Benefit realization management in projects

Abstract

I denne masteroppgaven ble realisering av gevinster i prosjekter studert. I det første trinnet forsøkte forfatteren å finne den beste praksisen og temaene som ble nevnt i litteraturet, for å gi en ganske omfattende kunnskapsbakgrunn for styringsprosessen for gevinstrealisering i prosjekter. I det andre trinnet prøvde forfatteren å analysere implikasjonene av beste praksis nevnt i bokstavene i sammenheng med Sykehusbygg HFs prosjekter. Dette ble gjort gjennom å analysere retningslinjene som er offentlig tilgjengelig på Sykehusbygg HFs nettside og intervjuer med tre konsulenter som jobber i helseforetaket. I det siste trinnet ble et pågående prosjekt, nemlig New Hospital in Drammen (NHD) analysert med tanke på tiltakene som prosjektet har tatt for å sikre realisering av gevinster. NHD-prosjektet ble anbefalt til forfatteren etter flere møter med konsulentene som jobber i Sykehusbygg HF, ettersom det er et av få prosjekter i sykehusbyggesektoren i Norge som fulgte veldig nøye med og fulgte opp prosessen med å realisere gevinster. I det siste trinnet i oppgaveprosjektet var det håp om å sette sammen tiltak som ble tatt i et prosjekt utført i virkeligheten for å skape et kunnskapsgrunnlag for fremtidige prosjekter i denne sektoren.

In this master's thesis, the realization of benefits in projects was studied. In the first step, the author attempted to find the best practice and topics that were mentioned in the literatre to provide a rather comprehensive knowledge background for the benefit realization management process. In the second step, the author tried to analyse the implications of the best practice mentioned in the literute in the context of Sykehusbygg HF's projects. This was done through analysing the guidelines which are publicly availble on Sykehusbygg HF's webpage and interviews conducted with three consultants working at the health trust. In the last step, an ongoing project, namely, New Hospital in Drammen (NHD) was analysed considering the measures taken by the project for ensuring and securing realization of benefits. The NHD project was recommended to the author after several meetings with the consultants working at Sykehusbygg HF as it is one of the few projects in the hospital building sector in Norway that paid very close attention and follow-up to the process of realization of benefits. In the last step of the thesis project, it was hoped to compile measures and steps taken in a project done in reality to create a knowledge basis for future projects in this sector.
