Resultatene viser viktigheten av at bedriftsledelse kontinuerlig inkluderer kulturfremmende tiltak i strategi- og målarbeid. dc.description.abstractThe theme of this thesis is how the organizational culture of the competence and technology company Sticos influences the company's opportunities for change, so that they can remain a strong player in an increasingly competitive market. The aim of the work has been to investigate the current culture in Sticos, how the employees want it to be in the future, and to investigate factors and measures that can help to shape a more unified culture within the organization. By using an explanatory combined method where data was collected in two rounds, the task seeks to find answers to the problem How does organizational culture shape innovation and competitiveness in Sticos? The data collection was conducted with a quantitative survey that was sent to all employees of Sticos, based on the Cameron and Quinn (2013) Competitive Values Framework, as well as a qualitative, phenomenological approach with four semi-structured in-depth interviews of employees and managers in the organization. The empirical material is analyzed in relation to theory of what characterizes a strong organizational culture, different perspectives on organizational culture, previous research in the field and the framework for competing values. The results show that the organizational culture in Sticos is characterized by familial relationships between employees, and loyalty and traditions are strong. These findings are consistent with the culture type of clan in OCAI (Cameron og Quinn, 2013), and especially in the section dealing with organizational glue is the ideal type in Sticos clan. Our findings also show that employees and managers are quite fragmented in what they think the culture should be to be competitive in the future. Employees believe that adhocracy and innovation should be given more space than what the results of the leaders indicate. The employees are also somewhat uncertain about which culture is desired by the management. Sticos and other comparable companies can use the findings of this paper to gain insight into how organizational culture can change in companies that are growing. The thesis also proposes measures that can be implemented so that the organizational culture promotes and influences the opportunities for change processes and innovation. The results show the importance that corporate management continuously includes culture-promoting measures in strategy and target work.
