This paper looks at the translation of the post-apocalypse from literature to film by using Cormac McCarthy's The Road and John Hillcoat's The Road. The Post-Apocalypse refers to a world which has gone through one or several events changing it drastically. The term can be understood in both the Judeo-Christian context as well as an atheistic one. In this paper I discuss how the book and the film take different approaches to the understanding of the post-apocalypse.
