Webløsning for bachelorstudenter ved IDI

Abstract

Bacheloroppgaven vil for mange studenter være deres første møte med et prosjekt av en slik størrelse og omfang. Særlig oppstarten kan oppleves som overveldende, hvor det med dagens løsning for informasjonsdistribuering i SharePoint kan være vanskelig å få god oversikt over informasjonen som gis, og hvilke frister som gjelder. En mer brukervennlig og intuitiv kanal for distribuering av informasjon vil kunne bidra til en smidigere og mer effektiv oppstart av bachelorprosjektet for studentene.

Prosjektet er en utviklingsoppgave med feste i teori om universell utforming, responsivt design og generelle prinsipper for webdesign. Målet med oppgaven er å utvikle en prototype av en webløsning som kan forbedre informasjonsdistribuering mellom ansatte og bachelorstudenter ved NTNU IDI i forbindelse med oppstarten av bachelorarbeidet.

Gjennom denne rapporten vil planleggingen og bakgrunnen for prosjektet presenteres. Rapporten vil også ta for seg teori og metode for implementeringen av webløsningen. Drøftingen skal evaluere avgjørelser som er tatt underveis og vil vise til tankeprosesser og begrunnelser bak valg som har bidratt til å forme den endelige løsningen.

Resultatet av prosjektet er et forslag til utforming av en informasjonskanal for studenter og ansatte ved NTNU IDI. Dersom løsningen blir tatt i bruk, vil dette være et nyttig dokument for å forstå funksjoner og grunnleggende prinsipper knyttet til videre utvikling og bruk av nettstedet.

For many students, the Bachelor thesis will be their first encounter with a project of such size and scope. In particular, the start-up phase can be perceived as overwhelming, and with today's solution for information distribution through SharePoint it can be difficult to get a good overview of the information provided and what deadlines apply. A more user-friendly and intuitive channel for distributing information may contribute to a smoother and more efficient start-up of the bachelor project for the students.

This project is a development task based on theory of universal design, responsive design and general principles of good web design. The aim of the thesis is to develop a prototype for a web solution that can improve information distribution between employees and bachelor students at NTNU IDI when initiating the Bachelor thesis.

Through this report, the planning and background for the project is presented. The report also addresses theory and methodology for the implementation of the web solution. The discussion evaluates decisions made along the way and will refer to thought processes and justifications behind choices that have helped shape the final solution.

The result of the project is a proposal for the design of an information channel for students and employees at NTNU IDI. If the solution is adopted, this will be a useful document for understanding the features and basic principles related to further development and use of the website.
