Abstract This bachelor thesis revolves around how you should evaluate if a company is open for the implementation of Enterprise Social Network (ESN) as a communication tool. ESN is a new platform for communication that a lot of companies has introduced the last couple of years. However, before you can start an implementation process, you must find out whether the company is ready for such an implementation or not. This will be investigated by doing a case study of a company that does not use ESN for the moment, but who are interested in this kind of a platform as a communication tool. In this project it has been chosen to investigate the digital communication in the company and their employees’ attitude towards the implementation of a new solution. This will be done by doing in-depth interviews with multiple employees within the company. The results from these interviews have been compared to theory about internal communication and technology acceptance. The result from this study shows that the company in question has big challenges when it comes to their digital communication. On the other side, their employees’ attitudes towards the implementation of ESN are overall quite positive. Nonetheless, with the challenges that the company has with the internal communication, you cannot recommend them to start an introduction process of ESN now. This case study shows that by investigating a company´s digital communication solutions and their employees’ attitudes towards the implementation of an ESN platform, you find if the company is ready for such a implementation process. This kind of evaluation shines a light on the potential challenges a company has with the internal communication and if their employees have the right prerequisites for using ESN as a communication tool.
