The current dissertation examines changes in body fat, physical activity and diet in children participating in outpatient family-based treatment of obesity at St Olav`s University Hospital, Norway between 2005 and 2010. Mental health and quality of life were also examined, as well as parental health cognitions as predictors of change in children’s total body fat during treatment. The study is a randomized controlled trial, and the efficiency of therapist-led and self-help groups of parents are compared.nb_NO
