Being a football supporter can mean different things based on who you ask. For some it means standing in the stadium and singing songs, while for others it means watching their team on TV. Being the right kind of supporter is a well-known topic of discussion among football fans. This assignment is an attempt to find out what ultrasupporters in Norway think a "football supporter" is and how they feel viewed by society and the media. The thesis is based on 4 in-depth interviews by supporters of the eliteserie club Stabæk. The empiricism is seen in the light of Giulianotti's supporter categories and Becker's stamping theories. The results show that the concept of the supporter is difficult to conceptualize, but that everyone who has love for and follows a team is regarded as supporters. Football supporters and ultras are often incorporated into a divergent culture and receive a stamp as outsiders. They accept that others look down on them and that they are often not seen as "normal", yet they are accepted by each other.
