| dc.description.abstract | Formålet med vår bacheloroppgave er å se nærmere på International Business Project og muligheten for å bedre organiseringen av prosjektet. Basert på våre konklusjoner vil vi presentere flere tiltak som kan iverksettes for å oppnå en tydeligere ramme og organisering av de påfølgende prosjektene.
International Business Project er et årlig prosjekt som gjennomføres av studenter ved NTNU, BI og NHH, i samarbeid med studiestedene og Innovasjon Norge. International Business Project har som mål å avdekke internasjonale forretningsmuligheter for norske organisasjoner i fremvoksende markeder. Prosjektet ble etablert i 1984 av Norsk Eksportråd, som i 2004 ble fusjonert inn i Innovasjon Norge. Organiseringen av prosjektet er per dags dato manglende på flere områder, blant annet når det gjelder hvem som er oppdragsgiver/prosjekteier. Den uklare organiseringen er med på å vanskeliggjøre gjennomføringen av prosjektet. Med dette som utgangspunkt valgte vi følgende problemstilling: “Hvordan kan bedret organisering av International Business Project tilrettelegge for enklere gjennomføring av fremtidige prosjekter?”
For å besvare problemstillingen har vi gjennomført en kvalitativ undersøkelse. Data er blitt innhentet ved å gjennomføre totalt åtte personlige intervjuer. Respondentene ble valgt ut basert på en kombinasjon av tilfeldig utvalg og informasjon. Den innhentede dataen ble sammen med relevant teori grunnlaget for å besvare vår problemstilling. Teorien som blir redegjort for i oppgaven er basert på våre fire forskningsspørsmål og omhandler de overordnede temaene prosjektorganisering, roller, ledelse og kommunikasjon.
På bakgrunn av drøftingen i oppgaven, kan vi konkludere med at manglende organisering har svekket International Business Project i betydelig grad. Våre studier viser at manglende styringsdokumenter og uklar fordeling av roller, ansvar og myndighet, i tillegg til varierende lederskap og kommunikasjon er underliggende årsaker til dagens situasjon.
Vi vil til slutt i bacheloroppgaven foreslå tiltak til forbedringer, samt forslag til videre forskning på området. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to inquire into the International Business Project and attainable areas to improve the organization of the project. Based on our conclusions, we will present measures that can be implemented to achieve a conspicuous organizational structure and general organization of the project.
The International Business Project is an annual project carried out by students at NTNU, BI, and NHH, in collaboration with these universities and Innovation Norway. The International Business Project aims at discovering international business opportunities for Norwegian organizations in emerging markets. The project was established by the Norwegian Export Council in 1984, which was merged with Innovation Norway in 2004. The organization of the project is currently lacking in multiple areas, including the relation between who the client and the project-owner are. The unclear organization is making the execution of the project increasingly difficult. Based on this, we chose the following problem statement: “How can improved organization of the International Business Project facilitate for easier implementation of future projects?”
To answer our problem statement, we conducted a qualitative study. We obtained data by carrying out a total of eight personal interviews. The respondents were selected based on a combination of random selection and information. Moreover, the data obtained, together with relevant theory, formed the basis for answering our problem statement. The theory explained in our thesis is based on our four research questions and addresses the overall topics; project organization, roles, leadership, and communication.
Based on the discussion in our thesis, the following can be concluded; a lack of organizing has impaired IBP to a large extent. Our research shows that a lack of managerial documents, unclear distribution of roles, responsibility, and authority, as well as varying leadership and communication are underlying causes of today’s situation.
At the end of our thesis, we will be proposing measures for improved organizing as well as suggestions for future research in this area. | |
