innovasjonsaktiviteten i Norge.
formulert:
FS I: Hvilke virkemidler i kontraktstrategien påvirker underentreprenører/-leverandørers
mulighet til å innovere i prosjekter?
FS II: Hvilke virkemidler i kontraktstrategien påvirker hoved-/totalentreprenørens mulighet til å
innovere i prosjekter?
FS III: Hvilke virkemidler i kontraktstrategien påvirker rådgivende fagdisipliners mulighet til å
innovere i prosjekter?
FS IV: Hvilke virkemidler i kontraktstrategien påvirker byggherres mulighet til å innovere i
prosjekter?
i prosjekter i BA-næringen generelt?
innovasjonsaktiviteter i prosjekter.
dc.description.abstract | Compared to other industries in Norway, the building and construction industry has one of the
lowest rates of innovation activities. Being a project-based industry with short-term horizons,
alongside independent actors, projects and tasks, as well as the increasing competition – are all
factors contributing to the low innovation activity. Consequently, in the context of project
implementation, the innovation activity in specific projects is affected by internal and external
factors in the market. To investigate how innovation activity in projects can be stimulated, the
following five research questions have been formulated:
FS I: Which instruments in the contract strategy influence the ability of subcontractors /
suppliers to innovate in projects?
FS II: Which instruments in the contract strategy influence the ability of the contractor's ability
to innovate in projects?
FS III: Which instruments in the contract strategy influence the ability of consulting disciplines to
innovate in projects?
FS IV: Which instruments in the contract strategy influence the ability of builders' ability to
innovate in projects?
FS V: Is there an optimal use of the contract strategy's instruments to facilitate innovation in
projects in the construction industry in Norway?
To answer the research questions, both a quantitative and qualitative research approach has been
chosen. A comprehensive survey was conducted to better understand the effect of the instruments
in the specific contract strategy as well as understanding how it affects the specific actors' ability
to engage in innovation activities in projects. The study has provided a basis for quantifying how
stimulating or inhibitory each instrument is for each actor involved in a specific project, as well as
differentiating how each instrument affects each actor.
In addition to the quantitative survey, seven semi-structured interviews of people in the Norwegian
construction industry were conducted. The findings from the qualitative studies indicate that
integration-based tools facilitate good communication, understanding of challenges and thus
stimulate the opportunity to establish innovation activities in projects.
