For å undersøke vindforholdene
over taket.
hastighetsprofilene over høyblokkene, noe som betyr at omgivelsene påvirker vindforholdene.
nedstrøms over tak.
dc.description.abstract | A model of Gløshaugen campus scaled 1:320 was created to evaluate the wind conditions
at Gløshaugen and to develop and validate a numerical model. To investigate the
wind conditions, smoke and grains were used for visualization of the wind conditions, and
pressure, velocity and turbulence intensity were measured over a wide range of locations
across campus using three different orientations of the model. The pressure was measured
using a pressure scanner connected to the model, and the velocity and turbulence intensity
were measured using a cobra probe. The measured locations were based on places of
previous interest, and an additional number of randomly selected locations were tested to
bring variety for validation of the numerical model.
In all cases the pressure measurements suggested that the wind stagnates in front of the
buildings, and is sped up above the roof. It was also suggested from the pressure measurements
that the flow approaching the high rises was non homogeneous in the horizontal
direction. This was also identified from the velocity profiles above the high rises, meaning
that the surroundings has an impact on the wind conditions. All of the vertical profiles
indicate low velocities and high turbulence intensity close to the surface, and the velocity
increase while the turbulence intensity decrease with height. A higher turbulence intensity
was observed at a greater height above the roof as the flow travels downstream over a
roof. The turbulence intensity above buildings in the wake of another building was highly
impacted, showing higher intensities at greater heights.
The results from the experiments were compared with a numerical model using different
RANS models to identify what model performs better. It was found that the SST k-omega
model performed better for predicting the pressure, and the standard k-omega model showed
better agreement than the other models with the turbulence intensity profiles. All of the
turbulence models predicted close to the same velocity profiles at all locations checked.
The results from the numerical model did generally not agree well with the experimental
results. It is suspected that the inlet conditions and the setup of the domain in the numerical
model has a significant impact on the numerical results.
