dc.description.abstractThe Chironomidae (Insecta: Diptera) type collection deposited at the Museum of Comparative Zoology (MCZ) are listed and reviewed. It is represented by 23 primary types, as well as paratypes and paralectotypes for an additional 29 species, mostly resulting from research endeavors of H. Loew and H. K Townes. Notes updating the taxonomic status of several species are provided.nb_NO
