This paper presents a novel new system model for electric utility providers struggling with declining revenues from increasing adoption of distributed energy resources (DER). The proposed new system model takes advantage of strong current market trends, including increasing adoption of photovoltaic solar panels and stationary storage solutions and declining revenues of the traditional electric utility business model, to arrive at a design which yields higher payoffs for both stakeholders.en
