dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, we study three classical covering results in analysis; the Vitali covering lemma, the Besicovitch covering lemma and the Vitali covering theorem. We exploit the ordering structure of the real line to obtain the best constants following from the two lemmas. We also consider some of the major applications of each of the three results.en
