Abstract

This thesis investigates data mining and the well planning process in field development.

It will first provide some background on data mining, two data mining algorithms and areas where data mining can be applied in the well planning process.

It will continue with the design of a prototype that can be used in well planning.

Finally, an evaluation of the methods will be provided before a conclusion is reached.
