Kulturbegrepets utvikling i norskfaget

Abstract

Temaet for denne masteroppgaven er kulturbegrepets utvikling i norskfaget. Gjennom en kritisk diskursanalyse har innholdet og semantiske endringer i begrepet kultur blitt undersøkt i fem læreplaner fra fem ulike tiår; Normalplanen av 1939, Mønsterplanen 1974, Mønsterplanen av 1987, Læreplanen av 1997 og Kunnskapsløftet. Et utsnitt av kulturbegrepets historiske betydninger og innhold, norsk skoleutvikling og pedagogisk tankegods presenteres og brukes som utgangspunkt for en drøfting av kulturbegrepet i læreplanene. Analysen viser at kulturbegrepet har endret seg noe i perioden 1939 og frem til 2013. Fra å inneha en tradisjonell kulturforståelse i lys av røtter, har kultursynet beveget seg mer i retning av impuls og hybriditet. Som resultat av en globalisert verden, har kulturbegrepet blitt utfordret. Dette har resultert i en trang til å utvide forståelsen av innholdet.

The topic of this thesis is the development of the concept of culture in the Norwegian curriculum. Through critical discourse analysis, the content and semantic changes in the concept of culture have been examined in five curricula, from five different decades; Normalplanen av 1939, Mønsterplanen av 1974, Mønsterplanen av 1987, Læreplanverket av 1997, and Kunnskapsløftet 2006. A section on the historical meaning and content of the cultural concept, Norwegian school development and pedagogical thinking, is presented and used as a starting point for the discussion of culture in the different curricula. The analysis shows that the concept of culture has changed during the period of 1939 - 2013. From a traditional understanding of culture in the earlier curriculums, the cultural view has moved more in the direction of impulsiveness and hybridity. As a result of a globalized world, the concept of culture has been challenged. This has also resulted in an urge to expand the understanding of the concept of culture.
