| dc.description.abstract | Literature on the Uppsala Internationalization Process Model has evolved to include relationships and networks as important factors in the internationalization decisions. Both models still believe in a gradual, and cyclical increase in knowledge and commitment. We found there to be a lack of research focusing on agricultural companies. These companies often enter markets with high initial commitments, as they begin with production commitments. By using and building upon internationalization concepts such as the liability of foreignness and the liability of outsidership, we explored if there are factors about agricultural companies that affect the severity of these concepts. We propose that the location dependency of agricultural companies affects severity liability of foreignness and the liability of outsidership, and the high level of initial dependency on local actors when entering with high initial commitments also affects the severity of these concepts. | |
