An inertially modified long-wave model is used to analyze the stability of inclined saturated film boiling. By performing quasi-parallel linear stability analysis on this model and combining the result with a heat-transfer model, an explicit expression for the heat-transfer coefficient is obtained. The results appear to fit all relevant data for film-boiling heat-transfer coefficient within an error of 15%.nb_NO
