| dc.description.abstract | Denne oppgaven er en kvalitativ studie av tre caser som handler om aksjonisme, og hvordan aksjonistene har arbeidet med å hindre utbygging i sitt nærområde. Oppgavens hensikt er å kartlegge i hvor stor grad aksjonistene har oppnådd makt, og på hvilken måte de har lyktes med dette. Data er samlet inn ved hjelp av dybdeintervjuer av tolv forskjellige informanter fordelt på de tre casene som omhandler aksjonen mot byggingen av den amerikanske ambassaden i Oslo, aksjonen mot utbygging av Trondheim Spektrum og aksjonen mot bygging i Høyskoleparken ved NTNU. Oppgaven sammenligner de tre casene og redegjør for hvordan de har lyktes ved hjelp av media, sosiale medier og hvordan de har påvirket beslutningstakere. Dessuten viktigheten av å fremstå altruistiske fremfor egoistiske. Oppgaven avsluttes med en redegjørelse for hvorfor aksjonistene i Høyskoleparken-saken lykkes med å hindre utbygging, i motsetning til de andre to.
This thesis is a qualitative study of three cases about activism, and how these activists have worked to prevent further development in their neighbourhood. The purpose of this thesis is to assess whether the activists have achieved actual power, and in what way they have succeeded. Data is collected through depth interviews of twelve informants, distributed in the three cases concerning the action against the construction of the US Embassy in Oslo, the action against the development of Trondheim Spektrum and the action against construction in the park surrounding the NTNU campus. The thesis compares the three cases and explains how the activists have succeeded by means of media, social media and how they impacted decision makers. Moreover the importance of appearing altruistic rather than selfish. The thesis concludes with a statement of why the activists from the NTNU campus park case succeeded in preventing development, as opposed to the other two cases. | nb_NO |
