Coupled fluid-structure interaction simulations of wind turbines have traditionally been considered computationally too expensive to carry out. However, more powerful computers and better solution techniques based on IsoGeometric Analysis (IGA) can make such simulations viable. Literature indicates that the smoothness of IGA approximations generally yield higher accuracy per- degree-of-freedom. We consider a two-dimensional test case prototypical of wake-vortex analyses and strip-theory approaches used in the numerical simulation of wind turbine.nb_NO
