In the crystal structure of the title compound, C13H11N3O4, there are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. In each case, the methylcarboxylate group is twisted by about 90 degrees relative to the rest of the molecule. The molecules are packed in the crystal structure through N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds.nb_NO
