dc.description.abstractIn this thesis we will look at some of the theory of elliptic curves. We will use this for some number theoretical examples, use methods to determine the number of points on an elliptic curve over finite fields, and also discuss primality testing. We will also have a look at the Riemann hypothesis and see how it is related to elliptic curves.nb_NO
