This report is the result of a master thesis at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The ISO 3382-3 standard describes the measurement procedure of room acoustical parameters in an open-plan office. The aim was to investigate how well these parameters could be simulated, by comparing measured and simulated values. A special study of diffraction has also been conducted, indicating that Odeon strongly underestimates diffraction. Measurements and simulations of the reverberation time, RT, and the ISO 3382-3 parameters have been done in two Zones of the COWI main office in Oslo. The parameters are the the A-weighted SPL based parameters and the STI based parameters. The absorption and scattering coefficient of the materials in the simulation model were adjusted such that the simulated RT was similar to the measured RT. Then the ISO 3382-3 parameters were estimated from the simulation. The measured and simulated ISO 3382-3 parameters were quite similar for one Zone in the office, but not for the other Zone.
