It is noteworthy that some Chinese pupils have difficulties to recognize the right direction of the Chinese character, and they have reading difficulties at the same time. The suggestion is that pupils with difficulties in recognizing the right direction of the Chinese character tend to have difficulties in reading as well. To prove this hypothesis, the mirror task was designed in this study. In the mirror task, the participants were asked to find out the reversed (left to right) Chinese character and read it out. And there is an obvious correlation between the reaction time of the mirror task and the Chinese grade according to the data. The pupils needed longer reaction time had lower Chinese grades. The study also attempted to find out the correlation between the rapid automatized naming test (RAN test) and the participants’ language ability. It has been reported by the teachers that the pupils with reading difficulties tended to have more difficulties in the object naming and color naming. But their reaction time and errors in the digit naming and the letter naming was not obvious when comparing with normal pupils. However, the study found no obvious correlation between the Rapid automatized naming test and the participants’ English or Chinese grades.nb_NO
