dc.description.abstractThis master thesis is part of a project dealing with Obstructive sleep apnea syn- drome (OSAS). Its main goal is to extend an existing 2D code for compress- ible flow into the third dimension and verify it. The code solves compressible Navier-Stokes equations by a high order finite difference method in parallel. The message passing interface (MPI) has been used for parallelization. The results are compared with results from the 2D program, grid refinements study is made and 3D structures are observed in a simulation, that is run with a grid with high resolution on computation cluster Vilje.
