Samarbeidende entreprenørbedrift har vært Martin M. Bakken AS. In this thesis I have chosen to focus on optimization of construction site management at chairman level. Martin M. Bakken AS, has been the cooperating construction company. The paper is a qualitative study with elements of quantitative methods; where data sources have been obtained through a two – week observation period of a concrete construction project in addition to interviews with the two chairmen I followed through the process. The construction project is a high school with a construction cost of 250 million kroners ex. VAT. During the observation periods there have been a total of 21 subcontractors (SC), and approximately 80 workers at the construction site. The data collection shows a strong tendency of coinciding results when it comes to areas believed to be able to optimize construction site management. The following five areas are identified as interesting in this context; SC, communication, engineering and drawing, meetings and allocation of responsibility between the chairman and project manager. However, it is important to emphasize that the main impression given through the observations and interviews show a positive tendency, where the construction site management of the project seems to function very well.
