In this project a study of sand production using the Sand Predictor tool developed by SINTEF is presented. The program requires input data such as: logs of the field, which were collected; production data, which was processed from Eclipse by history matching the production of the field to then predict the depletion on the field and the drawdown. After all the data were collected, three principal cases were made for different types of wells: vertical, horizontal and highly deviated. For each type of well several cases were made for the different completions that the program works with, in this case open hole, non-oriented perforations and oriented perforations. Additionally the selective perforation concept was used. This study allows the user to choose the best completion based on passive sand control, thus enhancing the production and the revenues of the field. In this study the best results were obtained when using oriented perforation in the direction which decreases the anisotropy in a perpendicular plane to the perforation the most. After the results of the amount of sand were obtained an economical evaluation was made between the best and the worst case to compare the revenues, together with a sensitivity analysis to see which parameters affect the most the results in terms of produced sand mass.nb_NO
