Hvordan kan sykepleieren informere og veilede om seksualitet til stomiopererte?

Abstract

NORSK: Introduksjon: I Norge finnes det mellom 8-10 000 stomiopererte (Norilco 2011). Å få en stomi kan påvirke seksuallivet til stomiopererte. I følge helsepersonelloven (1999) skal sykepleieren gi informasjon som pasienten har behov for. Hensikt: Hvordan sykepleieren skal informere og veilede pasienter, som har fått en stomi, slik at de får opprettholde sin seksuelle helse. Metode: Litteratursøkene ble gjennomført i databasene: Cinahl, Ovid Nursing database og Academic search elite. Søkeord som er benyttet: ostomy, sexuality, information, patient education, self image. Resultat: Gjennom litteratursøkene ble det funnet seks artikler der sykepleierens oppgaver om å informere og veilede ble belyst. Artiklene viser at sykepleieren ikke informerer og veileder tilstrekkelig, den viser også hvordan sykepleieren bør gå frem. Konklusjon: Ved at sykepleieren åpner for at temaet seksualitet er tillatt å snakke om, vil sykepleieren legge til rette for informasjon og veiledning. Sykepleieren må informere og veilede kunnskapsbasert etter pasientens behov. Da trenger sykepleieren å tilegne seg ytterligere kunnskap.

ENGLISH: Introduction: There are about 8-10 000 people with ostomy in Norway (Norilco 2011). Getting an ostomy can affect on patients sexual life. Nurses are obligated to give proper information to these patients according to legal causes (Helsepersonelloven 1999). Purpose: How to inform and guide patients with an ostomy about maintaining their sexual health. Method: Search for literature was conducted through these databases: Cinahl, Ovid Nursing database and Academic search elite. Searched words used were: ostomy, sexuality, information, patient education, self image. Results: Through literature searches, six articles were found in with the nurs’s tasks to inform and guide were discussed. The articles show that the nurse didn’t not inform and guide adequate. They suggested improvement for nursing actions and how to put into practice. Conclusion: Through out nurs’s trust and openness about sexuality to these patients, right information and guiding can be provided. The nurse has to inform and guide based on the patient’s needs, so the nurse have to acquire further knowledge about this theme.
