H: Introduction: Full-scale simulation teaching method has gained ground in medical education, training and continuing education of health care professionals, and is seen as an important contribution to improved patient safety. Local full-scale simulator training seeks to recreate reality as far as possible. The debriefing phase immediately after simulation, is weighted the most, and is described as the most valuable phase of the simulation, where the exchange of knowledge and expertise takes place, and the phase is perceived as important for learning. The purpose: Is to describe the nurses experiences of the debriefing phase in full-scale simulator training conducted at their workplace. Depth knowledge of nurses' experiences can contribute to increased knowledge regarding what provides learning in the debriefing phase. Method: Qualitative methods are used. Data collection methods are individual interviews with the use of an interview guide. Ten nurses with different clinical experience participated. The analysis is carried out using qualitative content analysis. Results: Four main categories emerged, and ten subcategories. The categories represent the nurses’ experiences with the debriefing phase: the content of the debriefing must reflect the simulation and be positive and more direct, the facilitator skills are important, increased understanding of one’s own and others' roles can promote cooperation and safety, a need for a common scene for reflection, learning from each other and to discuss the need for changes Conclusion: Four categories describe which experiences nurses have with the debriefing phase and what they see as important, useful and informative. To participate in debriefing locally seems to increase focus on the individual's roles and responsibilities, cooperation in teams, and to mimic patient situations at the workplace, provides opportunities to solve and clarify various questions about their discipline, and suggest improvements to clinical practice. Simulation and debriefing is experienced as interesting and informative, but it is important that the challenges that are identified, is looked upon and addressed properly. The result may be of important for adaptation and development of simulation and debriefing at the workplace.no_NO
