Effektivitet og kostnad ved metoden Scan to BIM to Prefab
Abstract
This bachelor thesis explores the efficiency and economic utility of the “Scan to BIM to Prefabrication” – method compared to the traditional building method in the construction industry. By using a detailed value stream mapping and a case study of a rehabilitation project called Innoasis, it will discover differences in efficiency between these two methods. The use of advanced digital tools such as 3D laser scanning and BIM (Building Information Modelling) in prefabrication processes is assessed. The thesis is studying how the technology integrated in the process of construction, can improve the accuracy, reduce the material waste and to enhance the general work efficiency. The analysis reveals that the “Scan to BIM to Prefabrication” – method can potentially increase the efficiency with 5 % and lower the total process time with almost one third, compared to the traditional building method. Furthermore, results indicate that the digitalizing of the construction process can lead to a decrease of mistakes and do overs throughout the process. In conclusion, the thesis emphasizes the importance of new and innovative methods, that can increase efficiency in the construction industry. Through this research, it becomes clear that the “Scan to BIM to Prefabrication” – method, not only represents a technological innovation, but also a method with potentially higher accuracy and lower process time, but with a higher total cost.
