Sammendrag
I denne bacheloroppgaven gir jeg en historisk gjennomgang av hvordan jazzmusikken ankom Norge. Oppgaven følger jazzens røtter fra opprinnelsen i New Orleans, utviklingen gjennom ulike faser fra ragtime til moderne jazz, og dens etablering i Europa og Norge. Oppgaven setter også spesielt fokus på jazzens unike utvikling i Norge, inkludert påvirkningen fra norske artister som Jan Garbarek. Analysen fremhever samspillet mellom tradisjonelle jazzelementer og lokale kulturelle påvirkninger, og illustrerer hvordan norsk jazz har skapt en egen sound som er kjent verden rundt. This bachelor's thesis provides a historical overview of how jazz music arrived in Norway. The thesis explores the origins of jazz in New Orleans and its development through various stages, from ragtime to free jazz, and how it became established in Europe and Norway. Special attention is given to the unique development of jazz in Norway, highlighting the influence of Norwegian musicians such as Jan Garbarek. The analysis emphasizes the interplay between traditional jazz elements and local cultural influences, demonstrating how Norwegian jazz has developed a distinctive sound that is internationally recognized.
