Sammendrag
Hensikt: Hensikten med oppgaver er å undersøke hvordan unge voksne erfarer å leve med epilepsi.
Metode: Oppgaven er en systematisk litteraturstudie. Åtte forskningsartikler ble funnet ved hjelp av søkeord som systematisk litteratursøk i to databaser. Disse ble analysert grundig ved hjelp Evans’ analysemodell.
Resultat: Funnene i studien resulterer i tre hovedtemaer: «Påvirkning i hverdagen», «Behov for informasjon og støtte» og «Unge voksnes egne holdninger rundt diagnosen».
Konklusjon: Unge voksne med epilepsi erfarer en utfordrende hverdag med ulike påkjenninger som blant annet fordommer fra samfunnet og seg selv. Likevel finner de håp og mestring fra et godt støtteapparat bestående av familie, venner og sykepleier. Aim: The aim of this study is to explore how young people with epilepsy are experiencing life.
Methods: The study is a systematic literature review. Eight research articles were found using a systematic literature search in two databases. These were analyzed by using Evans’ model for analysis.
Result: The findings in this study results in three main themes: “Influences in everyday life”, “Need for information and support” and “Young adults’ own attitudes about the diagnosis”
Conclusion: Young adults with epilepsy experience a challenging everyday life with various stresses, including prejudices from society and themselves. Nevertheless, they find hope and coping from a good support system consisting of family, friends and nurses.
