Abstract

"Seks bind på tre timer: En analyse av adaptasjon" undersøker hvordan forestillingen "Juvikfolket" av Trøndelag Teater (2023) fungerer som en scene-adaptasjon av Olav Duuns romanserie "Juvikfolke" (1918 – 1923), med fokus på stykkets overordnede struktur og bruk av både dramatiske og litterære virkemidler. Oppgaven analyserer hvordan de litterære virkemidlene tatt i bruk i originalteksten overføres til forestillingen, samt hvordan stykket kan sammenlignes med andre virkemidler og metoder brukt i moderne adaptasjoner av litterære verk, som oftest faller innenfor post-dramaturgi. Ved å ta i bruk kreative impulser og strømninger fra originalteksten, samt tidligere teatertradisjoner, overfører Juvikfolket den litterære fortellerstemmen til scenen ved bruk av kun en skuespiller.

"Six volumes in three hours: An analysis of adaptation" examines how the stageplay "Juvikfolket" by Trøndelag Teater (2023) works as a theater-adaptation of author Olav Duun’s series of novels "Juvikfolke" (1918 – 2023), focusing on the play’s overall structure and use of both dramatic and literary elements. The paper analyses how the literary elements used in the original text is translated to the stage, as well as how the play can be compared to other trends and methods seen in other modern adaptations of literature, most of which can be classified as post-dramatical. Using the creative impulses and trends from both the original text and earlier dramaturgical traditions, "Juvikfolket" transfers the literary narrator to the stage by using only one actor.
