This bachelor thesis, with the title «Teaching that engages: mantle of the expert, process drama and aesthetic learning processes», shed light on drama-based pedagogy to examine how it can contribute to a more engaging tuition. The assignment therefore answers the following problem: How can Dorothy Heathcote’s mantle of the expert, in combination with process drama, contribute to aesthetic learning processes, deep learning and stimulation of multiple intelligences? The thesis is a literature review and is therefore based on relevant literature and empirical evidence that already exists. Central literature is Frames of mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences (1985) by Howard Gardner, «Drama og estetiske læreprosesser i alle fag?» (2022) by Aud Berggraf Sæbø and Drama for Learning: Dorothy Heathcote’s Mantle of the Expert Approach to Education (1995) by Dorothy Heathcote and Gavin Bolton, to mention a few. The main findings of this study is that mantle of the expert and process drama contributes to aesthetic learning processes, deep learning and stimulation of multiple intelligences, but requires that the teachers know their own and their students limitations and possibilities in order to carry out tuition based on drama-based pedagogy.
