Hvordan finne en egen stemme som beatprodusent gjennom arbeid med sampling?

Abstract

I dette prosjektet har jeg utforsket hva min stemme som beatprodusent er gjennom arbeid med sampling. Prosjektet resulterte i en beat tape, en samling med instrumentale hiphop-låter. Jeg har utforsket sampling som tradisjon og metode, for deretter å definere hva sampling er i min arbeidsprosess. Prosjektet har gitt meg innsikt i min egen fremgangsmåte samt gitt meg dypere forståelse for min egen musikksmak og musikalske innflytelser. Det er hva jeg som beatprodusent velger å gjøre med kildematerialet, sammen med valgene om hva slags kildemateriale jeg bruker, som er med på å skape min stemme som beatprodusent.

In this project I have explored what my sound as a beat maker is through working with sampling. The project resulted in a beat tape, a collection of instrumental hip-hop songs. I have delved into sampling as a tradition and method, and then defined what sampling means in my creative process. The project has provided me with insights into my own approach and has deepened my understanding of my musical taste and influences. It is what I, as a beat maker, choose to do with the source material, along with the choices of what kind of source material I use, that contribute to shaping my sound as a beat maker.
