Abstract
Ever-increasing demands and expectations from the environment make it more difficult for companies to think exclusively about their own goals and development. In a world with a lot of change and challenges, we are dependent on value creation and economic growth, and work on innovation and development is therefore a current topic. This bachelor thesis will deal with innovation and development, and more specifically how SinkabergHansen will handle requirements and expectations in the work with innovation and development. In the autumn of 2022, it was proposed to introduce a resource rent tax on aquaculture, which will give the company an increased overall tax rate. Based on the resource constraints they are now experiencing, we think it is interesting to investigate the extent to which companies are affected by their surroundings. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to answer the following research question:
"How to handle different demands and expectations from the environment when working with innovation and development?"
When collecting data, qualitative methods have been used. Open individual interviews have been conducted, where all respondents are administrative employees of SinkabergHansen. The information collected was assessed in relation to the theoretical framework of the thesis. It was clear from the respondents that they will meet all requirements and expectations even if they are to develop. The respondents were clear that they want to meet all requirements and expectations, while developing operations. For this to be feasible, a restructuring is required. Different strategies are being considered, with the findings pointing to cost reduction and hard priorities in particular.
