For the product development of automotive thermal management system products for usein battery electric vehicles, the validation of the hydraulic energy loss of single- and multi-stream components and subsystems is essential. This elaboration will focus on the physicalside of the validation in building up a collective work about the buildup of fitting equipmentfor this purpose, the flowbench. The research question is on the one hand considering theproper automotive and theoretic background for the actual experimental layout, and onthe other hand the physical application in building up the testenvironment and testing thefunctionality. The target of the elaboration is in this, not just a quantitative analysis ofthese experiments, but also a qualitative discussion of the outcome, consequences, andreflection on the good and bad outcomes. The project describes a dedactive way along withthe development of the flowbench, including inductive patterns to highlight challenges andoccurrences. As part of the outcome, the examples were applied. A simple orifice specimenwas tested successfully, as well as an elbow component partly successful. The experimentof a t-junction as representative for multi-flow components shows still capability fordevelopment. From the qualitative side, the overall buildup is seen as successful accordingto the targets to create a prototypal baseline for the physical validation of hydraulicresistance. Still, some challenges arose from the fields of sensors and time struggles, aswell as other open issues. These are elaborated and reflected. Concluding, the importantaspects of buildup and components are elaborated on in detail, but the structure still showssome voids dedicated to sensor problems and flaws in time management.
