Tittel: Relasjonen mellom vernepleier og personer med autismespekterdiagnose: Viktigheten av kommunikasjon

Mennesker med autisme har ofte utfordringer og komplikasjoner når det kommer til å forstå det sosiale samspillet mellom mennesker. Dette skyldes blant annet kognitive og sosiale funksjonshemninger som følge av diagnosen. Disse utfordringene virker å ofte føre til uønsket atferd som utagering og selvskading blant denne brukergruppen.

Formålet med denne studien er å undersøke faktorer som kan være til hjelp for tilrettelegging av god samhandling og kommunikasjon. Studien benytter seg av litteraturstudie som metode, med fen inkluderte forskningsartikler. Artiklene belyser sentrale temaer, som i resultatdelen gav grunnlag for tre hovedtemaer: 1) atferd og utfordringer, 2) emosjonsregulering, og 3) tilrettelegging av god kommunikasjon.

Denne litteraturstudien diskuterer rammevilkår som kan ha virkning på kommunikasjonsarbeidet med mennesker på autismespekteret, og drøfter hvilken effekt kunnskap om emosjonsregulering og kommunikasjon har på slikt arbeid, sett fra et vernepleierfaglig perspektiv.

Summary:

Title: The relation between nurse and persons with autism spectrum disorders: The importance of communication

People with autism often have challenges and complications when it comes to understand social interaction. This is due to, amongst other things, the cognitive and social disabilities as a result of the diagnosis. These challenges seems to often lead to unwanted behavior like acting out and self-harm amongst these user groups.

The aim of this study is to investigate what type of factors that can be an aid for facilitating good interaction and communication. The study applies the method of systematic literature review, including five research articles amongst its findings. The articles elucidates certain central themes, presented in the result section as: 1) behavior and challenges, 2) emotional regulation, and 3) facilitating of good communication.

This systematic literature review discusses different contextual terms that can have an effect on the communication work exercised towards people on the spectrum of autism, and further discusses which effect knowledge about emotional regulation and communication has on this type of work, seen from the point of view of intellectual disability nurse science.
