Bærekraft hos bilforhandlere - En eksplorativ studie av Sullands nye bærekraftstrategi
Abstract
This bachelor thesis is based on the sustainability of car dealers. The thesis is based on dataobtained through an exploratory qualitative study done in collaboration with a dealer affiliatedwith one of Norway's largest car groups, namely Toyota / BMW Sulland Gjøvik. The purpose ofthe thesis is to explore and analyze what a sustainability strategy should look like for a mediumsized car dealer, based on the employees' perspective. The thesis wants to shed light on what asustainability strategy means for a car dealer, as well as how it should be developed based on theemployees.
The theoretical basis is based on what sustainable development is, what this means for acompany, what a sustainability strategy is and what social responsibilities a company has.Furthermore, it discusses how strategy implementation takes place in companies. The theorythen ends with coverage of job attitudes, satisfaction and commitment among employees. In theresults chapter, information is obtained from both the Sulland Group and Toyota / BMWSulland Gjøvik. Taken together, this forms the basis for further discussion and ultimately thebasis for our conclusion.
The most interesting findings worth mentioning are that all the informants experience thestrategy design of the Sulland Group as a positive measure, with certain points as exceptions. The exceptions that come to light are that the employees wanted inclusion in the developmentphase of the strategy, some employees also stated that they wished for quantified goals that gavethem a clue to the situation faster than the KPIs do. Furthermore, they wanted clear sub-goalsand task areas, as well as a greater focus on HSE. Finally, the group has come up with someimprovement opportunities rooted in theory. Among other things, training in sustainability forthe employees is highlighted, the change of vision should be reassessed, and the dynamic abilityof the group's companies should be analyzed in order to advance the strategy developmentfurther
